Location: Anatomy Facility, Thomson Building, University of Glasgow, Glasgow G12 8QQ

This is a structured competence-based surgical dissection course utilising separate programmes for three temporal bones on embalmed specimens. 

Providing hands on experience using embalmed cadaveric material this two day course will cover:

  • Posterior Myringoplasty
  • Anterior Myringoplasty
  • Ossiculoplasty
  • Stapedectomy
  • Attico Antrostomy
  • Cortical Mastoidectomy
  • Interior Tympanotomy
  • Modified Radical Mastoidectomy
  • Radical Mastoidectomy
  • Three Canal Bony Labyrinthectomy
  • Transmeatal Labyrinthectomy
  • Translabyrinthine Exploration of the Internal Canal
  • Endolymphatic Sac Decompression
  • Facial Nerve Decompression
  • Singular Neurectomy
  • Posterior Fossa approach to the Internal Auditory Canal
  • Middle Fossa approach to the Internal Auditory Canal
  • Exposure of the Jugular Fossa
  • Cochlear Implant
  • Transcochlear approach to the Petrous Apex

The course is ideally suitable for ENT trainees.

Faculty: Mr Arunchalam Iyer, Consultant ENT Surgeon, MBBS, MS(ENT), DLO RCS (Eng) FRCS   

Other faculty will be comprised of West of Scotland ENT Consultants
