Glasgow moots

The University of Glasgow runs a number of internal moots. Moots are held in the Sir Alexander Stone Memorial Moot Court, in the Stair Building. The Mooting Society also holds informal moots during the academic year.

Dean's Cup

The University of Glasgows premier internal mooting competition, held annually since 1986. It is organised by the Mooting Society. It runs across three preliminary rounds (Nov-Feb) and a grand final in March. The final is usually hosted at either the United Kingdom Supreme Court in London, or at the Court of Session in Edinburgh and judged by a member of the justiciary. The winning team receives the Deans Cup and is awarded the Semple Prize.

The competition is open to all University of Glasgow students. Students compete in teams of two.

Applications to enter are usually in late September or early October. Details on how to apply are circulated at the start of the first semester.
