Biography

Joanne Ramsey joined the School of Law as a Lecturer in Medical Law in 1999 and has since taught on several programmes in medical law, at both undergraduate (Human Reproduction and the Law; Medico-Legal Problems; Law and Ethics) and postgraduate level (Masters in Medical Law, Distance Learning Programme).

She is currently co-convenor of Contemporary Issues in Healthcare Law (level 4), Principles of Healthcare Law (level 3) and lectures on these courses in addition to Human Reproduction and the Law (level 4).  Joanne is also a tutor on the Family Law course (level 1), the Introduction to Legal Studies course (level 1) and the Legal Profession and Ethics course (level 2).  In addition, she convenes and teaches the Law element of the Access Course.

She is also the Chief Adviser of Studies for the LLB.

Research interests

Medical law, especially surrogacy and, issues at the end of life, particularly assisted dying.
