Comparative Research Trip to Stellenbosch University, South Africa - 30th July to 8th August 2017

I travelled to Stellenbosch for a short research trip to investigate South African water law.

During my PhD, I visited the South African Research Chair in Property Lawin 2010. I was invited by Prof Andre van der Walt, whose work on social justice and property in South Africa transformed my approach to researching property law.
Andre sadly passed away in 2016 and an International Property Law conference in Stellenbosch was held 31st July – 1 August 2017 in his honour. I presented at the conference on “Sustainable Development and the Future of Property Law” and then spent a further 7 days researching South African law at Stellenbosch University. This trip was funded by the Clark Foundation.
