Strategies

13.1 The following table links each strategic policy with the recommendations on which it depends. Some recommendations affect more than one strategic policy. The number of the recommendation is linked to the summary list of recommendations in ¶ 13.2.

5. Encourage the use of ICT to foster the development of authentic data (e.g. biological or environmental data, archaeological sites and monument records) for educational purposes including primary and secondary education and lifelong learning;  4, 5, 17, 37, & 38 
           
6. Normally not fund distribution and access infrastructure (e.g. networks to interconnect institutions) or research and development in ICT;  3, 18, & 59 
           
7. Only support ICT projects that are sustainable after funding ceases;  34, 51, 53, 54, 56, & 57 
          
8. View digital resources as having an indefinite life and require evidence that applicants can preserve them in reusable form indefinitely;  51, 52, 53, 54, 56, & 58 
        
9. Give a higher priority to ICT projects which arise out of local or regional activities and create resources of value to these communities; and  7, 14, & 35
