Biography

Dr Takayuki Ando is a Lecturer at the Center for General Medicine Education, Keio University School of Medicine, Japan, and a Visiting Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on multimorbidity and fragmentation of care among older adults, with a particular interest in the concept of “polydoctoring” — patients who regularly consult multiple healthcare providers — and its impact on outcomes and healthcare costs. He has received several awards, including the Hinohara Award and the Young Investigator Award from the Japan Primary Care Association. He is working to compare multimorbidity management between Japan and the UK, aiming to generate insights that inform health system design and primary care policy.
