Research interests
Elizabeth's research interests are in applying systems science and soft systems methods to complex public and social health issues.
Her current work on the GALLANT project explores climate resilience in Glasgow through participatory workshops with research and local authority stakeholders, using soft systems tools and systems mapping.
Her PhD research applied soft systems methodology with a range of community, third sector, and statutory stakeholders to improve how female genital mutilation (FGM/C) is addressed in Scotland. She has also worked with practitioners on exploring the potential use of systems thinking methods in health impact assessments (HIA).
