The Greek myth of Ariadne and Theseus in the labyrinth of Minos has long been used as a metaphor by researchers and clinicians when discussing multimorbidity, which is one of the greatest challenges in healthcare. Researchers are confronted with heterogeneity and disappointing intervention outcomes, clinicians are challenged by the complexity and uncertainty of decision making, and patients have to cope with an increasing treatment burden. The symposium will summarise findings and evidence gaps and highlight new concepts and approaches in the field of multimorbidity.
