Interdisciplinary research group dedicated to understanding and addressing the complex influences that shape health and drive inequalities across people, places and stages of life.
Led by Professor Petra Meier in collaboration with colleagues from the School of Health & Wellbeing and College of Social Sciences, we are delighted to introduce the Healthy Social Systems Lab.
Our interdisciplinary research group is dedicated to understanding and addressing the social, economic, and environmental influences that shape health and drive inequalities across people, places and stages of life.
Using a range of systems approaches, including soft systems methods, computational modelling, AI and systems-science informed evidence reviews, we support decision-makers in considering how to maximise health gains, address health inequalities and build a healthier, fairer future for all.
Our research explores a range of topics, including economic determinants of health and wellbeing, 20-minute neighbourhoods, climate change and social interactions.
If you are interested in hearing more or possibly collaborating, please get in touch with Petra Meier or Alice MacLachlan.
