IHW's new building shortlisted for design award

Institute of Health and Wellbeing's new home, the Clarice Pears Building, made it to the finals of the Scottish Design Award in the "Future building or project" category
Institute of Health and Wellbeing's new home, the Clarice Pears Building, made it to the finals of the Scottish Design Award in the "Future building or project" category.
"The building design amplifies the spirit of the Institute and delivers a wellbeing-focused, articulated workspace rich in sustainable and environmental responses. Natural strategies for daylight and ventilation are optimised in pursuit of a human-centred response to workspace in the city." Scottish Design Awards website
This state of the art building is named after Clarice Pears, who was born and raised in Glasgow, and the Pears Foundation - founded and run by Clarice’s three sons, Mark, Trevor and David - has donated £5 million to the cost of construction.
Many congratulations to the design team at Atkins, and to the eventual winner and highly commended in this category Canongate and Orwell Farm.
