On 08 September 2019, 12 members of IHW (and around 8,000 of our closest friends!) took part in the Pedal for Scotland 20th anniversary bike ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh. Despite wet and blustery weather in the week preceding the event, the day of the ride was sunny and still, perfect conditions for the 45-mile ride.

After setting off from Glasgow Green the ride followed a scenic route on closed roads (with 3 refuelling stops!) to Edinburgh where the team picked up their well-deserved medals. With no punctures and only a little bit saddle sore we are now planning next year’s HEHTA adventure.

The atmosphere was fantastic with participants across the full age range and an eclectic mix of bikes including tandems and e-bikes. Congratulations to everyone who completed the ride (Jill Pell, Angela Henderson, Emma McIntosh, Fred Ho, Yulia Anopa, David Blane, Houra Haghpanahan, Nicola McMeekin, Peter McMeekin, Andy Briggs, Francesco Manca, Robin Ireland, and Alessio Albanese), proving that exercise really is for everyone!

The team were raising funds to support research in IHW. If you would like to donate, you can do so via this JustGiving page
