Celebrating the recent achievements of Institute of Health and Wellbeing staff and students

  • Mental Health and Wellbeing PGR student Karyl Powell-Booth for successfully defending the thesis entitled: "An exploration of the factors associated with suicide and self-harm risk in Jamaica"
  • MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit's Andy Baxter, for successfully defending the thesis entitled: "Investigating the fall in teenage pregnancy rates in the UK from 1999 onwards using systematic review and natural experimental methods"
  • Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment's Catherine Hanna for successfully defending the thesis entitled: "Clinical trial outcomes in oncology: measuring impact and investigating the translation of trial results into clinical practice"
  • IHW Admin's Audrey Dickie and Rachel Allan, for organising another very successful Macmillan coffee morning and raising £478 (so far) for a fantastic cause that's close to so many of our hearts. (Well done also to HEHTA's Laura Wood and family, winners of the autumnal cakes and bakes competition.) There is still time to donate to Macmillan Cancer Support, if you would like to, on our dedicated fundraising page.

If we have missed a recent achievement, award or honour, do let us know and we will add it to next month's HAWKEYE!
