  • Social and Public Health Sciences' Amrit Purba, recipient of the Trevor Clay Award for an outstanding achievement in professional development
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing's Joey Wardon on passing his PhD thesis by publication. The title of Joey’s thesis was “Genomic Investigations of Psychiatric Conditions via Research Domain Criteria Traits”. It included five original data papers where Joey was the primary author.
  • Marian Okon, awarded the degree of PhD for the thesis entitled "The impact of crude oil-led economic growth on health and its determinants"
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing's Jon Evans, appointed President of the International Neuropsychological Society
  • Avril Johnstone and Vittal Katikireddi, joint winners of the SPHSU’s annual Public Engagement Award. Avril helped develop a new online activity for children - HealthyVille , co-wrote a blog on outdoor learning and play, organised a successful round table event for World Children’s Day, established a Twitter account for the Places programme, and is active on her personal Twitter account. Vittal has engaged with the print and broadcast media on coronavirus, co-authored a Conversation UK article on why black and Asian people are at greater risk of coronavirus, recorded a podcast, and delivered various webinars on coronavirus to different audiences.
