The EMCRF was established in 2016 by the SBRL (MHW) to create an event specific for ECRs in the field of suicide and self-harm. The aim was to create a space for support, networking, and collaborations among masters, PhD, and postdoctoral as well as more established researchers.

Given the wide range of people interested in the event, SBRL members decided to expand its scope to include mid-career researchers too in 2018. So far, the event has attracted people from all continents and more than 40 countries. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Suicide and Self-Harm Early and Mid-Career Researchers’ Forum 2021 will be online, free of charge.

The event will take place on 17 and 18 June 2021 with registrations open until 07 June 2021 (limited places available).

Although the event is specifically targeted at early and mid-career researchers, it is open to anyone interested in suicide prevention.
