Peer support for IHW staff who are carers: new initiative launches

Published: 14 March 2018

A peer support group for institute staff with caring responsibilities has now launched in MS Teams, providing a private space for current and former carers to chat and support each other

IHW's Athena Swan Maternity Paternity & Carers issues group would like to invite staff carers in the IHW to join our new MS Teams channel.

Based on the feedback given by staff carers, the IHW Athena Swan maternity, paternity and carer issues group has set up a new MS Teams channel for staff carers.

This is a private space for current and past staff carers who wish to be part of a peer support group and offer or receive an informal support. It will be a safe space to share the highs and lows of being a carer and a source of shared resources that may be of help.

We have also uploaded a resource containing brief descriptions and links to external support groups for carers and the people they care for, which are available either Scotland-wide or locally, and would invite staff carers to let us know of others that could be added to this.

If you are interested in joining the group, please visit the channel and send a request to the channel administrators
