Five IHW projects on shortlist for MVLS engagement awards

Winners of the annual College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences engagement awards are soon to be announced, with a number of IHW projects shortlisted for their design, creativity, and contribution to public communities and research

Very well done to all those shortlisted for the 2021 MVLS Engagement Awards, with five out of the eight based in IHW.

These awards celebrate the diverse public engagement taking place within the college and seek to recognise and reward individuals and teams who successfully engage the public with our world changing research.

IHW shortlisted projects

  • Brain Fog and Vaccines – TEAM Nomination, Primary Care Research and Development, IHW
  • CONUNDRUM (CONdom & CONtraception UNDerstandings) – TEAM Nomination, MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit, IHW
  • Creative Insights – TEAM Nomination, MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit, IHW
  • Equally Safe At School – TEAM Nomination, MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit, IHW
  • Self Help Covid booklets for people with learning disabilities – TEAM Nomination, Scottish Learning Disabilities Observatory, IHW

  • Breaking a lifetime of disadvantage by enhancing engagement of ethnic minorities in health research – TEAM Nomination, ICAMS
  • Parasites: Battle for Survival – TEAM Nomination, Wellcome Centre for Integrative Parasitology, III
  • Virus Snowflakes – INDIVIDUAL Nomination, Ed Hutchinson, MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research, III

Award winners will be announced by Vice Principal and Head of College Iain McInnes on Friday 28 January 2022. Good luck everyone!
