Celebrating the recent achievements of Institute of Health and Wellbeing staff and students

  • Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer Syed Ahmed, who has received an OBE for his work as Clinical Director at Health Protection Scotland and for services to the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme
  • General Practice and Primary Care's Kate O'Donnell, celebrating 30 years' service within University of Glasgow 
  • IHW PGR student Solange Parra-Soto, on being accepted into the European Nutrition Leadership Platform, a prestigious intensive training programme with hundreds of applicants each year and only a few places available
  • General Practice and Primary Care's Karen Wood, on being awarded the elevator pitch prize at "ADEGS 2002", the annual scientific meeting of Scottish university departments of general practice and primary care (Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, St Andrews). Karen's presentation was entitled "Experiences of care during the Covid-19 pandemic among people with Rheumatoid Arthritis and MSK pain", which presented data and findings from the Multimorbidity in Arthritis and persistent musculoskeletal Pain (MAP) study. The MAP study is funded by Versus Arthritis.
