Photo of Breda CullenWe are currently busy analysing the results of the IHW Environment Survey and all our AS Working Groups are considering how to take the findings forward in their activities. This month we would like to highlight the importance of completing the IHW Workload Survey – just under half of eligible staff have submitted their responses to date, and we need to increase this to ensure we have representative results to inform our action plan. Please look out for the reminder email from Jisc and send in your responses by 08 March 2021.

We encourage all staff and students to read the Understanding Racism, Transforming University Cultures report published by the university in February. This includes an action plan to help tackle racism and racial harassment on campus as part of the university’s efforts to address racial inequality. We will continue to integrate an anti-racist approach within our AS and broader equality, diversity and inclusion work in IHW.

Monday 08 March 2021 marks International Women’s Day. Despite the current restrictions, there will still be plenty of university activities and events to celebrate the day. Take a look at the events listings for more information.

Best of luck to all staff applying for promotion in the current round. We hope you found our "myth-busting" information helpful, and we plan to build on this with new resources on our web pages to support staff aiming for future applications.
