CAD-Graphics Services

The CAD-Graphics team support the design and creation of "digital assets" for Teaching and Research in the
James Watt School of Engineering, as well as supporting the teaching of CAD and rapid prototyping to our undergraduate students.

The team produce images, animations and 3D models for investment presentations, conferences, research papers and journal publications. These are designed to help explain the diverse science and engineering behind the world changing research undertaken within the School of Engineering and the wider University.

 

CAD & 3D Printing

The CAD-Graphics team manage all CAD and 3D printing services and are based on level 7 of the James Watt South Building.

CAD technical support, design service and design consultation is available for the following software:

  • Autodesk
  • Fusion
  • Revit
  • FormIt

The team have created a bespoke 3D Printer Farm for student and staff use based on level 3 of the James Watt South Building. The team also offer a 3D printing fulfillment service. For more information on these services, please visit:

Graphics

The CAD-Graphics team provide a comprehensive graphics support to the School of Engineering with a fully equipped Graphics Studio on level 6 of the James Watt South Building.

Services provided include:

  • Design and layout of presentation materials using Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Photography, Videography & editing
  • Motion Graphics
  • Illustration
  • 3D Scanning & 360-degree Scanning
  • Equipment loaning of cameras and scanners

When submitting a request please allow 1 week for submitted 3D print requests and 3 days for poster print requests.
