Biography

Shagufta Nasar is a Primary Teacher in East Renfrewshire and a Teacher Associate at the University of Glasgow’s Centre for Teaching Excellence (CfTE), where she has been seconded since January 2026. She is a member of the Pedagogy to Support Attainment in Diverse Classrooms hub and undertakes her seconded role on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

She has over 20 years’ experience across the primary sector, including early years education. Her professional work is underpinned by a strong commitment to equity and inclusion.  Drawing on both professional expertise and lived experience, she has contributed to the development of inclusive practice at school and local authority level, particularly in relation to supporting diverse learners.

Shagufta holds a BSc (Hons) in Immunology and Pharmacology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Education from the University of Strathclyde, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Support for Learning from the University of Glasgow.
