Biography

Rebecca is currently seconded to the Centre for Teaching Excellence as a Teacher Associate in the pedagogy to support attainment in diverse classrooms hub. She has been a Teacher of Biology and Science in Clackmannanshire Council since graduating from the University of Stirling in 2016 with a BSc (hons) in Biology with Professional Education. To compliment her interest in working with ITE and TIS teachers, Rebecca completed a PG Cert in Supporting Teacher Learning at the University of Strathclyde in 2022. She has also trained in coaching and mentoring and was involved implementing a whole school coaching approach for staff development. She has been heavily involved in the practitioner enquiry process for probationer teachers in her local authority, where she is a Coach and Assessor. Rebecca is an experienced Biology Marker and Item Writer with the SQA/ Qualifications Scotland. She has also developed BGE courses aimed to identify and address misconceptions in Science.
