Biography
I joined the Centre for Teaching Excellence as a Teaching Associate in October 2025. I am seconded to the Centre on a Tuesday and Friday each week as part of the Learning for Sustainability and Rural Education hub. I have a keen interest in all aspect's of the Centre's work and the importance of teacher professional learning transforming classroom practice.
Having been a teacher for almost 20 years, I have worked across a number of local authorities in secondary schools. Within this time, I have undertaken different remits such as Principal Teacher of Interdiscplinary Learning, Principal Teacher of Geography to my current role as Principal Teacher of Humanities. I am passionate about professional learning and have been involved in a range of practitioner enquiry intiatives and communities of practice throughout my career such as trio partnerships with associate secondary schools, GTCS professional recognition in Leadership and achieving the Education Scotland LfS Community Award for my current school in 2021.
I enjoy working with passionate and enthusiastic colleagues to improve the learning experiences of pupils within the school community.
