In this seminar Alexandra Lamont will outline a new framework for approaching research on music making combining concepts from positive psychology and the study of music and emotion. She will provide an overview of several recent projects exploring music making at different stages in life which apply this framework to understand how and why music making seems to provide a powerful contribution to people's overall states of wellbeing.
The evening seminar is open to all, but please contact the Seminar Series Administrator if you would like to attend the afternoon masterclass. Funds are available to offset travel costs from postgraduates and non-salaried postdoctoral researchers from outside the Central Belt of Scotland.
