Dr Jenni Burton on the presentation of her Dunhill Medical Trust "Rising Star" Excellence Award for 2024
I am extremely grateful to Dunhill Medical Trust for this award and excited at the potential developments it will facilitate. People living in care homes have some of the most complex needs among the older adult population and yet our knowledge about those needs and how best to support them is significantly lacking, with barriers to participation and access. Their voices and those of their advocates are often unheard. This award will be transformative in my mission to build capacity, improve visibility and participation in research to drive progress through evidence-informed care.
I would also like to acknowledge the tireless support received from Professor Terry Quinn in developing and enabling my research career over more than 15 years including nominating me for this award.
