Update from the Research Management Team...
Happy grants season everyone!
The team would like to congratulate Gerard in having his contract extended from maternity leave. Very well done Gerard! And happy days for the rest of us who get to keep you a bit longer!
Due to wider team absence Gerard will now be splitting his time between ICS and 3Is. Thus, the ICS team ask for your patience and a little more warning for applications if you are able.
We’ve a busy few months ahead of us with Research Council and charity deadlines, and dare I say the build up to Christmas. Sorry to mention it so early but in the grants world, we need to start thinking about surrounding deadlines and how the holidays impact timelines.
In some cruel twist, many funders have first week of January Deadlines and so we ask as a team that we do as much prep as we can before the holiday break-especially in light of team shortages.
So if you’re already thinking about going for a January deadline, and although it may seem far away, if you’re able to give us a heads up of your intentions it helps us plan the remainder of the year.
A reminder has just went round from institute about animal license fees. Remember some funders will pay these if directly relevant to the research/employed staff member so please include these in your costing request if applicable and we can advise if these can be applied for or not.
As always, we’re here for all things research related. We might not always be able to help, but if we don’t know we will find who can.
The TRM team
