Dr Diansha Wang
- Lecturer in HRM Organisational Behaviour (Management)
Biography
Dr Diansha Wang joined the Adam Smith Business School as a Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour in January 2025. Prior to this, she was a Postdoctoral researcher in the School for Business and Society at University of York. She holds a PhD in Management Learning and Leadership from Lancaster University Management School. She received her master's degree in International Management from University of Nottingham.
Her research interests span the domains of organisation studies and management, with a particular focus on different forms of social value judgment (such as responsible leadership, serendipity, secrecy and authenticity), and in particular political, social and economic conditions under which they are constituted by organisations.
Her work examines how peripheral and fringe stakeholders experience, negotiate, and contest dominant globalised notions of responsibility circulated by multinational organisations, and how such values are strategically mobilised and reshaped in specific contexts. Drawing on historical, qualitative research, she investigates how organisations strategically manufacture and deploy resources such as serendipity and secrecy to shape perceptions of stakeholders, particularly those embedded in non-western contexts. More recently, she is developing historical insights into global food systems in terms of emerging challenges and conflicts, investigating how global demands for addressing food security crisis and climate changes influence and shape distinct organisational responses and strategies in emerging economics.
