Abstract
The working paper "Bills of Exchange in a Supply Chain" by Piero Gottardi (University of Essex) and Shengxing Zhang (London School of Economics) analyses the role of trade credit instruments, specifically bills of exchange, within production networks.
Bio
Piero Gottardi is Professor of Economics at the University of Essex, a position he has held since 2018. He previously served as Professor of Economics at the European University Institute (2008–2018) and at the University of Venice (1994–2008), following a Prize Research Fellowship at Trinity College, Cambridge (1989–1994). He completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge in 1991. He has also been a Visiting Professor at Harvard, Yale, Brown, New York University, Pompeu Fabra and UAB Barcelona, and is a Research Fellow of CEPR and CESifo, as well as an Economic Theory Fellow of SAET.
