Published: 15 January 2026
Nethmi Jayasundara, International Student Events and Activities Intern, is proud to launch the ASBS Cultural Digest Newsletter, featuring news on cultural events in ASBS and key cultural dates.

Nethmi joined the Adam Smith Business School in October 2025 as International Student Events and Activities Intern. In this role, Nethmi works to bring more social and community-focused opportunities for international students, including the chance to celebrate cultural festivities like Christmas and Chinese New Year.
As part of Nethmi's role, we are proud to launch the ASBS Cultural Digest Newsletter, focusing on celebrating diversity and international efforts within the ASBS community.
- From a recap of last semester's international student event to ways of getting involved this semester, as well as student and staff cultural perspectives, the January edition brings a spotlight to the international experience at ASBS. Take a moment to read about the international opportunities that shape our school.
- Take a moment to discover the traditions, stories, and experiences that bring ASBS together this February by reading our Cultural Digest. From Chinese New Year festivities in the Business School, to introducing Pancake Day and global celebrations including Ramadan, the Portuguese Carnival, and Valentine's Day, this edition highlights how culture surrounds student life. Explore recommendations on international food stops and books. Hear from SRC Vice President, Ayush and the Director for Internationalization, Xiang Li, who share their personal perspectives on what it means to be a part of an international community.
- March brings a rich mix of cultural celebration and reflection across the international community. We spotlight the joys of Holi, the lively traditions of St. Patrick's Day, and the meaningful end to Ramadan marked by Eid al-Fitr. Learn more about Ramadan, hear from an ASBS intern on her international perspective, and find cultural food and book recommendations. Read about how to get involved in other global moments from International Women's Day to Alumni UK. Together, let's celebrate connections and experiences that shape the ASBS international community.
