Instituto Nacional de Salud
The National Institute of Public Health of Peru is an executive agency of the Ministry of Health, devoted to research and technological development related to priority health problems. The National Institute of Health has a mandate to propose policies and standards, promote, develop and disseminate scientific and technological research, and provide health services in the fields of public health, control of communicable and non-communicable diseases, food and nutrition, production biological, quality control of food, pharmaceuticals and related products, occupational health, environmental protection and intercultural health, with the aim of improving the quality of life of the national population.
The INS has a memorandum of understanding (framework agreement) with the University of Glasgow aiming to encourage collaboration in the areas of research, technology transfer and training in fields related to ecology, epidemiology and evolution of pathogens of importance to public and/or animal health.
