Caitlin's research explores activities undertaken by Scottish museums that engage with Scotland’s historical links to chattel slavery, its wider colonial past and contemporary legacies of this.

Caitlin Knox has an undergraduate degree in Archaeology and History from the University of the Highlands and Islands and an MSc in Museum Studies (Artefacts and Material Culture) from Glasgow.

Her PhD will explore collaborative projects, workshops, exhibitions, interventions, and public events undertaken by Scottish museums in recent years that engage with Scotland’s historical links to chattel slavery, wider colonial past and contemporary legacies of this.
