Dr Peter Hanlon

  • Clinical Lecturer in General Practice and Primary Care (General Practice & Primary Care)

Biography

Dr Peter Hanlon graduated from the University of Edinburgh with MBChB in 2011, having completed an intercalated BMedSci in Immunology in 2008. Following undergraduate training he completed an Academic Foundation Programme in Aberdeen, as part of which he researched aetiological factors in autoimmune disease.

Peter began GP training in Forth Valley in 2013. While in clinical training he has become particularly interested in frailty, chronic disease management and palliative care. He gained membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2014 as well as diplomas in Geriatric Medicine in 2014 and in Child Health in 2016. During this time he developed his academic interests completing an MSc in Internal Medicine, graduating with distinction in 2015, as part of which he undertook a systematic overview of telemedicine interventions to support self-management in long-term conditions.

Peter joined General Practice and Primary Care in August 2016 as a SCREDS Clinical Lecturer. He also continues part time training in general practice as a registrar in Doune Health Centre.
