McLaughlin & Harvey Built Environment and Net Zero Poster Competition

The Built Environment and Net Zero Conference held a student poster competition, with separate categories for students enrolled in UK Higher Education Institutions. We were delighted to offer First Prize to Eliška Kosová, a Masters student at the University of Glasgow, in the School of Geographical and Earth Sciences. See her winning entry here!

Poster prizes were kindly provided by McLaughlin & Harvey for both undergraduate and postgraduate students living in the UK.

For Glasgow residents, prize vouchers were for Locavore, a Glasgow-based social enterprise. For others we offered to purchase a voucher to any ethical company or social enterprise in their area.

Guidance for posters:

  • Posters will only be viewed online; there won't be a physical poster exhibition. Please keep this in mind when designing your poster.
  • Use visuals effectively – Graphics are key to a good poster. They can show key results and grab the reader’s attention.
  • Keep it simple - make a few points clearly and avoid long paragraphs!
  • Make sure you cover the impact that your research could achieve in delivering sustainability goals for the built environment.
  • Format check – open your poster file on different devices first to check text is legible, the aspect ratio is correct (3:1 is best), and that your file size is maximum 5MB.
