Screen Education, issue 1, October 1959

Screen has featured many striking covers, adopting different approaches to design during the various phases of publication. No more than a pamphlet, the first issue of Screen Education  shows not Bambi (as appears at first glance), but The Stubborn Little Goat, credited to Films of Poland. The articles within were concerned with teaching film appreciation to young people and had an international scope, with reports from the Soviet Union, Canada and Poland. The editorial envisaged film teachers enabling "young people to discover through viewing and discussion, worthwhile values" from their leisure-time viewing.
