Scottish Alliance for Food

Ana Tominc

Ana is a Reader in Media and Communication and Associate Head of Division at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, UK, with specialism in food communication. She is interested in discourses of food politics and lifestyle, especially in relation to class and nation. Her current project (with Ashli Stokes and Maryam Ishaq) is on 'Communicating Scotland through food: From devolution to possible futures'. She is also a founder and chair of the biennial Conference on Food and Communication, and co-editor of the book series Food, Media, and Communication (Peter Lang).

SCAF manages to bring together people interested in food that would otherwise likely never meet, let alone collaborate: nutritionists and food systems experts, social scientists and engineers, and mathematicians and the humanities scholars - all trying to work together towards one aim: how to improve food for all.
