Ada Garcia

Ada is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health Nutrition at the University of Glasgow. Her research examines determinants of child nutrition and the promotion of optimal dietary practices in communities. Over the past fifteen years, she has collaborated with governmental and non‑governmental organizations to co-create, implement, and evaluate nutrition interventions aimed at reducing dietary inequalities among young children and their families both in the UK and internationally.

SCAF has been instrumental for me to obtain pump-priming funding to develop multidisciplinary research collaborations to test research concepts and methodologies which allowed me to test and understand how multidisciplinary collaborations work. As a result I could identify research ideas and collaborators which led to securing £1.2 million for a UKRI funded project on food and health inequalities.
