Mapping Your Next Steps - Profiling your project network and actions through relational methods
The session will provide the opportunity for you to map what growth and development mean for your food research and impact collaboration, culminating in a visual action plan to support next steps. Using the facilitator’s Creative Growth Model, you will be tasked and supported with relationally mapping your network growth (current and potential collaborators and partners), your knowledge growth (current and potential expertise and capabilities), your value growth (current and potential outputs and outcomes), and your market growth (current and potential users and beneficiaries).
This holistic form of mapping will allow you to visually document and discuss your next steps in rich qualitative detail, supported by experienced facilitation in innovation, whilst also enabling SCAF to better access and support your development needs and opportunities.
Date, time, location:
Apply for one of two date options: 1st or 4th September 2026. The workshop will take place online from 10-12pm. We will be using a Miro Board to map your project growth. If participating, you will need to sign up to Miro before the workshop (free).
Who should attend?:
Each event is limited to 20 spaces. Priority will be given to SCAF Pump Priming Awardees; however we welcome expressions of interest from others working on collaborative food research projects.
About the facilitator:
Dr Michael Pierre Johnson is an Innovation Leadership Fellow at the School of Innovation and Technology at The Glasgow School of Art who specialises in mapping and modelling relational growth for interdisciplinary collaboration. As co-lead on SCAF’s Academy of Citizens workstream, he is offering to support the development of collaborations within the SCAF network by delivering online mapping workshops using his design-based methods.
