Festival of Social Science - Working 9 to 5: How does childcare fit?

As part of the Festival of Social Science, join the Centre for Public Policy for an in-person public event on 7 November 2025. Hosted by the Centre for Public Policy in collaboration with Pregnant Then Screwed, this event will share new research on childcare policy in Scotland. Dr Claire MacRae will present the findings, followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A chaired by Professor Kezia Dugdale.

Event information
This event explores how childcare policy in Scotland is working in practice, drawing on new research from the Centre for Public Policy (CPP) in partnership with Pregnant Then Screwed. It will address key questions such as, how accessible and affordable is childcare for families?
The event is led by Dr Claire MacRae, Senior Lecturer in Public Policy at University of Glasgow's (UofG) Centre for Public Policy.
