Research students from CRCEES universities are invited to submit proposals for a Research Poster for the above conference. The poster should present how your language training has enhanced or facilitated your research project. Is your proposal is accepted, your poster will be printed (size TBC) and displayed during the conference to highlight the benefits of advanced or specialised language skills when undertaking postgraduate research.

The ‘Building the Language Base for Research’ conference is being co-organised by CEELBAS and the subject Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies (LLAS) on behalf of all the Language-Based Area Studies (LBAS) Centres. It covers Central & Eastern Europe, Russia, China, Japan and the Arab World and will address the achievements and future challenges of LBAS in the area of language training and development.

Speakers include representatives from all the LBAS Centres as well as language teachers, area studies researchers and leading academics in the field.
 
To submit a proposal for a poster, please e-mail a draft version of your poster, using the template attached, to ceelbas@ssees.ucl.ac.uk by Tuesday November 6th. The specific layout of the poster, number of text boxes used and their sub-titles, accompanying images/photos etc, is left open for your suggestion. The deadline for submission of final versions of selected posters will be Friday December 7th.
