Questions of justice, violence and retribution have been the subject of increasing scholarly interest in the last few years, with a number of individual research projects engaging with these themes. This conference represents an attempt to contextualise and to harmonise the disparate micro-level studies that have been conducted thus far on this topic, and to use these studies to engage with larger themes.
