Scotland in Lockdown - Health and Social Impacts of COVID-19 in Scotland

Funded by the Chief Scientist's Office, the study took place from July to October 2020 and included working with 20 third sector and community organisations.

The purpose was to understand the challenges faced by groups already isolated pre-pandemic:refugees and people seeking asylum, people in prison, experiencing domestic abuse or sexual violence, disability or long-term health condition.

Over 300 participants contributed including interviews, survey and postal responses, and social media analysis. 

Dr Nicola Burns and Dr Phillippa Wiseman led the Disability and long-term health conditions research group.
