Welcome to GCSS 2020

We are delighted to invite you to the 2nd annual Glasgow Cardiovascular Summer School - GCSS 2020.

GCSS 2020 takes place from 16th-21st August 2020 and is hosted by Professor Rhian Touyz and Professor Christian Delles, Director and Deputy Director of the BHF Centre of Research Excellence, based at the School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health at the University of Glasgow.

The theme of the 5-day translational course is “From Small Vessels to Heart Failure: A Continuum” and the topics will range from the fundamentals of vascular biology and myocardial physiology to the pathological processes that underpin common cardiovascular diseases, their clinical features and management. The programme will also cover key co-morbidities in cardiovascular disease and includes a variety of practical sessions designed to provide insight into key clinical and research techniques. GCSS 2020 is aimed at early-career non-clinical and clinical researchers interested in translational cardiovascular research.

With a varied and interactive programme designed for early-career researchers and delivered by a faculty of international experts, GCSS 2020 is not only an excellent opportunity to learn and develop, but also a platform to build an effective network for collaboration.

We look forward to welcoming you to Glasgow and hope you will enjoy the Summer School!
