Co-Curating for Climate Change

A call for future ARC interdisciplinary champions

As part of the inaugural HACK the ARC ideas fund, the Hunterian Museum in partnership with art and climate organisation, Invisible Dust, are seeking 8 ARC residents to join them in an innovative exploration of interdisciplinary collaboration with a climate change focus. We are keen to involve staff from across the ARC’s research community, including for instance researchers, technical and support staff spanning the sciences, arts and humanities. No prior experience of interdisciplinary working is necessary.

Our future champions will work closely with Jeanne Robinson, biologist and Hunterian Curator, Alice Sharp from Invisible Dust and Glasgow based artist, Anna Tewungwa, in using the Hunterian Natural History Collections as a point of inspiration to develop new approaches to interdisciplinary practice and communication. Participation will involve a short series of interactions, including a guided visit to the Hunterian Collections and a workshop led by Invisible Dust.

The expected commitment

You should be available (and please provisionally hold) the following dates:

  • 10th or 13th May 9:30-12:30 – Collections tour (Hunterian Museum and Hunterian Stores at Kelvin Hall)
  • 13th May 13:30 – 16:30 – Interactive workshop (location tbd)
  • End May - post-workshop surveys (online or in person) to explore outcomes

Who can apply?

To be eligible you should meet the following criteria:

  • You should be an ARC resident.
  • You need to be available on the dates outlined above.
  • You should be interested in working across disciplines and in connecting with a wider circle at the ARC and beyond.
  • You should be interested (personally or professionally) in climate change.

How to apply

Because we want to ensure representation across disciplines, and our group will be small - it is unlikely we can accept everyone who applies and will communicate outcomes to all applicants by Fri 26 April. Good luck!

Apply now via our survey form!
