Why did you chose to study this programme?

For my undergraduate dissertation I looked at the impact of internal accounting and corporate governance, and was keen to learn more at postgraduate level. I was attracted to courses like International corporate governance and accountability, and the fact that there are many related optional courses in semester 2. The programme covers key areas such as auditing, risk, governance and control and I was interested in learning more about these. Glasgow is a very friendly city, this is also a reason why I chose to study here.

What are you enjoying so far?

Independent study: it is a different study experience to back home, you get access to and are encouraged to read good papers, group coursework, developing my presentation skills. Student societies: there are many great events at the Adam Smith Business School, networking opportunities, making friends, meeting other business students from different cultures.

Why would you recommend it to prospective students?

This programme is a very specific part in accounting. If you are interested in corporate governance then you will get a full understanding about this. If you study accounting at undergraduate level, or if even you study a non-business subject, then this is a good choice for you. The programme is a good opportunity to learn more about corporate, management and the accounting related field.
