Integrative Mammalian Biology

The MRes in Biomedical Sciences (Integrative Mammalian Biology) provides a unique opportunity to gain skills in in vivo research.  There is a shortage of academics and those within Industry with in vivo research skills, and so this MRes will provide training that will considerably improve your future career options, particularly within Industry.  Glasgow is one of only four centres of excellence in these skills and is the only place you can undertake such an MRes in the UK.  This scholarship, for Scottish and EU applicants, will pay your fees and will cover the cost of Home Office Training and a personal licence.  Students undertake taught material covering endocrinology, higher skills in biological sciences and molecular genetics of disease.  The remainder of the course focuses on the research project which is chosen from a pool of submitted projects offered by researchers spanning cancer, immunology, neuroscience and cardiovascular diseases.  Many of our graduates go on to further postgraduate research at PhD level having gained invaluable in vivo research experience or continue to jobs within the health sector, pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or biomedical sales.
