About the MVLS EPSRC Doctoral Training Programme
MVLS/EPSRC PhD fully funded positions are available within the University of Glasgow, Collage of Life Sciences
Our aim is to deliver high quality, collaborative research and training for our PhD students within the Biosciences. The West of Scotland is a key region in the UK for academic excellence, industrial support and investment.
Areas of research include (but are not restricted to) mathematical biology, bioenergy, synthetic biology, nanobiology and research into healthcare devices. A list of available projects, abstracts and supervisors for admissions in 2026 can be found here Glasgow projects
We strongly recommend that once applications are open, students examine the list of projects available, and contact potential supervisors to discuss the projects before applying.
Please note, that if you are an International applicant you will be responsible if successful to cover the Visa and NHS Health Surcharge for your stay in the UK, over the 3.5 years of your PhD at c£1,500 per year which is £5,000 to £6,000 for the 3.5 years of your PhD.
