Postgraduate Admissions Policy for session 2025/2026

Postgraduate applicants can APPLY for accommodation when: 

You have received an offer of study from the University of Glasgow for Academic Year 2025-2026 AND You have accepted this offer.

Please note it can take up to 72 hours for your details to import to the accommodation system once you have accepted an offer of study.

Some students will be eligible for the International Postgraduate Taught Student Guarantee which guarantees an offer of accommodation if applicants meet specified conditions and deadlines.

International Postgraduate Taught Student Guarantee

You will be guaranteed an offer of accommodation if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are PGT applicant (postgraduate taught), new to study at the University of Glasgow for September 2025 entry and do not require family/partner accommodation; and
  • Your online accommodation application is received by 14 July 2025; and
  • You have met your conditions of study as outlined in your offer letter by 31 July 2025; and
  • Your fee status is confirmed as International/EU; and
  • You have paid your tuition fee deposit by the date specified in your offer letter; and
  • You are applying for accommodation for a full academic session at the University of Glasgow (i.e. September to June or September to September)

Accommodation applications can be submitted after 14 July 2025, but priority will be given to applications received prior to 14 July 2025.

Offers of accommodation can be issued when: 

Category A - You have an Unconditional Offer of study (that you have accepted) AND have made a deposit payment of £2000 towards tuition fees AND have confirmed International/EU Fee Status 

OR  

Category B - You have a Conditional Offer of study (that you have accepted) AND have made a deposit payment of £2000 towards tuition fees AND have confirmed International/EU Fee Status. 

If you do not meet all conditions by 31 July 2025 and have not contacted UofG Admissions to agree an extension to this deadline, your accommodation offer will be withdrawn.

Home or Rest of UK Postgraduate Taught (PGT) and Postgraduate Research (PGR) Accommodation Applicants

We cannot guarantee an offer of accommodation but, as the application process proceeds, a limited number of rooms may become available and offers of accommodation will be sent to those meeting the necessary conditions. The Students Representative Council's Advice Centre (SRC) can offer guidance for searching in the private sector.

Family / Partner Accommodation

The University has only a limited number of flats available to students with families or partners. As a consequence, they are in high demand and cannot be guaranteed to those requesting them. Family accommodation will be allocated on a first come, first served basis to eligible applicants. The Students Representative Council's Advice Centre (SRC) can offer guidance for searching in the private sector.
