Current Research

The research focusses on investigating the lived experiences of Black African families of adults with learning disabilities in the United Kingdom. A general search of  exisiting literature indicated that this group of the population is commonly researched among other minority population groups as Black and Minority Ethnic people (BAME), therefore the research will start by systematically reviewing existing evidence on lived experiences of  BAME families of people with learning disabilities to establish the current evidence and to direct a mixed methods approach  study of qualitative and quantitative research that will aim to establish a broader picture of the lived experiences of a population that is hardly researched- Black African families of adults with learning disabilities.
