Research title: Beyond the Anthropocene
Research Summary
My research investigates how the lyric and poetic forces of sci-fi can be used and expanded upon to address two major concerns of our time – the deterioration of the natural environment and rapidly changing notions of community/selfhood.
This process involves the creation of literary futures that depict a different sense of ‘nowness’: a present lived with, within and through both the natural world and objects, particularly complex ‘objects’ that are accepted as actors, such as AI networks and ecologies.
