Research title: College of Social Sciences (CoSS) PhD Scholarship (CtFE) titled 'Accounting for Teacher Professional Learning at Scale'

Research Summary

Kat is a full-time PhD candidate in the School of Education. She was awarded the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) PhD Scholarship (CtFE) in 2025. Kat is a passionate educator, with experience developed over many years as a School Librarian and Teacher in Scottish secondary schools.
 
In her PhD research, Kat is interested in teacher professional learning, education accountability, collective agency, critical professionalism, alternatives to neoliberalism, education discourse and transformative education.
 
She is optimistic about what might happen when the education ecosystem prioritises collective, curious, and critically reflective cultures.
