Research title: Indiscernible Zones: Scottish Military Landscapes and Extended Realities

Research Summary

Video games are today's paradigmatic representational medium, strongly influencing collective cultural memory. The mass popularity of immersive conflict simulators, several set in Scotland, directly inform narratives and perceptions of the Scottish landscape. This practice based research examines these existing virtual representations and works to construct experimental alternative renderings that aid in reframing and altering critical discourse surrounding unseen militarised spaces in rural Scotland.
